Cockrill Middle School Band

CMS Band Parents,

Due to inclement weather, the CMS Winter Concert will not go on as scheduled tonight. I am sorry if this puts anyone in a bind, but the rule states that after school events must cease if school is cancelled that day.

The good news is that I have already locked down the McKinney Boyd Auditorium for Thursday night! This is truly a miracle because this venue is usually booked for months in advance.

I have attached an updated PDF with information regarding the concert Thursday Night. Everything is the exact same except for the day change.

Congratulations to all members of the Cockrill Symphonic I Band who auditioned for the 2008 All-Region Band tryouts. The tryout consists of the top middle school players from schools around the area competing for the opportunity to advance to Phase 2 on Tuesday, November 11th. This year there were over 900 participants at this contest.

We are proud to announce that this year, 7 CMS students placed in the All-District Band. The All-District band represents students who placed in the top 1/3 of their audition rooms and each student will receive a patch to commemorate this great honor.

All Cockrill Band students have received a letter that contains information about the C.B.P.O. I have also included the attachment just in case the letter did not make it home.

Please read this letter carefully as it contains some breaking news regarding the immediate future of this organization.
