Supporting McKinney ISD's newest Middle School Band program
Info for Boyd-bound Bronco Band Members
- Band Registration is on Saturday, June 6th at 1:30-3:30 PM for 9th graders. Forms need to be printed from the Bronco Band web site and both STUDENT & PARENT need to be present. Registration is a required event.
- Mini-Marching Camp for all Bronco band members (including the new 9th graders) is June 8-10, 8:00 AM - 12:20 PM. Daily attendance is required to be considered for a spot in the contest marching show.
CMS Band Students Excel at All-Region Tryouts
Congratulations to the 51 Cockrill Band members who auditioned for the 2009 All-Region Band tryouts. The tryout consists of the top middle school players from schools around the area competing for the opportunity to advance to Phase 2 on Tuesday, November 10th. This year there were well over 800 students who entered this contest.
We are proud to announce that this year, 12 CMS students placed in the All-District Band and advanced to Phase II of the competition to be held at Rice Middle School in Plano. This is a new school record in Cockrill’s short existence.
Solo Contest Results
I want to congratulate everyone who participated in the Solo Contest. The judges were extremely impressed with everyone tonight. They could not stop talking about how great everyone did. Click on the attachment to view the results.

Summer Band Camps
Summer is quickly approaching and I wanted to let you know about a potential way to keep your child involved with band. There are numerous band camps at various universities around the state of Texas that will be both beneficial and fun for your child to attend.
