CMS Band Students Excel at All-Region Tryouts

Congratulations to the 51 Cockrill Band members who auditioned for the 2009 All-Region Band tryouts. The tryout consists of the top middle school players from schools around the area competing for the opportunity to advance to Phase 2 on Tuesday, November 10th. This year there were well over 800 students who entered this contest.

We are proud to announce that this year, 12 CMS students placed in the All-District Band and advanced to Phase II of the competition to be held at Rice Middle School in Plano. This is a new school record in Cockrill’s short existence.
The All-District band represents students who placed at the very top of their audition rooms and each student will receive a patch to commemorate this great honor.
